Z Grills 450B (2026 upgrade) product page specs: 459 sq in total, 331 sq in main rack, 18 lb hopper, 160 F to 450 F, 77 lb assembled weight, $477 listed on 2026-10-12: https://www.zgrills.com/products/zpg-450b-pellet-grill. Z Grills warranty policy: https://www.zgrills.com/pages/warranty-policy.
Calculator burn assumption
0.65 lb/hr at 225 F. Planning number only. Not a lab test.

Hopper hours and pellets per cook

A 12 lb brisket at 225 F plans at about 16 hr 30 min, but in winter a full 18 lb hopper runs only about 12 hr 56 min, so an overnight brisket needs a refill around hour 12. In mild weather the same cook uses about 11.1 lb and finishes with about 6.9 lb left.

How long a full 18 lb hopper runs on the Z Grills 450B, after the 0.35 lb startup pad. Burn starts at the 0.65 lb/hr assumption at 225 F and scales with set point and weather, the same math as the calculator.
Set pointMild (about 60 to 80 F)Winter / sub-freezing
225 F27 hr 9 min at 0.65 lb/hr12 hr 56 min at 1.37 lb/hr
250 F23 hr 56 min at 0.74 lb/hr11 hr 24 min at 1.55 lb/hr
275 F21 hr 21 min at 0.83 lb/hr10 hr 10 min at 1.74 lb/hr

Same 18 lb hopper elsewhere in our database: the Camp Chef SmokePro DLX 24 (about 19 hr 37 min), the Traeger Pro 575 (about 19 hr 37 min), and the Traeger Pro 780 (about 16 hr 49 min), counting a full hopper at 225 F in mild weather on each grill's own assumed burn rate.

Pounds of pellets for two common cooks on the Z Grills 450B, startup pad included. Cook time is the calculator's planning estimate for the meat and set point.
CookPlanned timeMild (about 60 to 80 F)Winter / sub-freezing
12 lb brisket at 225 F16 hr 30 min11.1 lb22.9 lb (more than a full hopper)

Those pounds include the startup pad and assume a full hopper at the start. For how meat, set point, and bag size change the total, see how many pounds of pellets a smoke really takes.

Each pellet figure opens that cook in the calculator with the Z Grills 450B already picked, or run the winter brisket for this grill in the calculator and change the weight, temp, or weather yourself. Wind, wet pellets, and a leaky lid are not in the math, and they usually burn more.

Notes

331 sq in main rack, 459 listed total. Entry-size grill with a hopper cleanout and two meat probes in the box.

PelletDeck did not run this grill in a lab. The burn assumption exists so the calculator has a starting point. Override hopper size if your unit differs.
